For the past twenty-five years I have been a decorative painter and muralist in Northern California, creating custom environments for families and businesses under the business name English Hang Ups.
When we moved to Gualala, my dream of living in heaven was fulfilled. Using all of my prior artist's knowledge I set out to recreate my vision of this paradise.
I have developed a unique technique using Venetian plaster, a fine plaster which is made with marble dust. The pieces are then painted with acrylic based glazes, burnished, waxed and polished, rendering a beautiful lustre that cannot be duplicated with varnishes.
I paint large, serene ocean scenes that are textured, reflective and that dance in changing light. Additionally, as a result of my love of texture, experimentation and color, I paint abstracts.
