Ann Berger employs slab, coil and small units of stoneware clay in the construction of her pieces, smoothed and melded on the interior only leaving the exterior to display the deep and varied textures she admires.

The design process evolves from both firm ideas with sketches as well as vague concepts that just have to be tried.  She builds both sculptures and sculptural vessels that are large, exuberant, colorful and enhanced with wildly varying textures.
